Families coming to Bethel House must meet certain eligibility requirements. Bethel House only serves families with children that have a connection to Whitewater. This includes Whitewater residents, those who work in Whitewater, or those who have family or other connections in Whitewater; there needs to be something that will be a resource to them outside of Bethel House.  

     Bethel House is not an emergency shelter. Families are asked to fill out an application if they meet eligibility requirements and are then selected for the program based on the severity of the family’s need and whether their situation is one that the organization feels it can help the family overcome. Background checks are conducted for all adult applicants.

The Coordinator meets with families to review their application, conduct a needs assessment, and determine what issues must be resolved by the family in order to attain self-sufficiency.
