"Lord, give food and shelter to those who have not, and a hunger for justice to those priviliged."

The issues and problems that lead to a family’s homelessness are complex and diverse. Based on their needs assessment, Bethel House attempts to connect families to as many resources as possible that will help families resolve personal, financial, legal, and social problems.

It might mean helping a family find a better job, apply for subsidized housing, attain a high school equivalency diploma or enroll in a school program, establish a budget to pay off existing debt, save for future housing, enroll in parenting classes, attain legal assistance with bankruptcy, attain professional counselors for individual and family therapy, and/or connect to area resources. Ultimately, Bethel House is a safety-net and source of support to families as they work through their problems.
