"Lord, give food and shelter to those who have not, and a hunger for justice to those priviliged."

Although hard to measure, the success of the Bethel House program can be observed in the changes that occur in the children of families that are Bethel House participants. Without question, children are human gauges as to the stress level within a household. As their needs become met, children go from a sense of fear and uncertainty to gaining a sense of well-being and hopefulness. They perform better in school and are more likely to be involved in extra-curricular activities.

Indeed, studies have shown that regardless of the disruption at home, children will adjust better if they can remain in their familiar school surroundings; a founding principle of Bethel House.
